When reading nutrition fact labels on boxed or packaged foods, the ingredients should simply be the whole food item.  For example, a carton of whole milk should read... Ingredients: Milk. If there are any vitamins or minerals listed, then they are synthetic and added.  Do not confuse this with the nutrition facts in the black box that list out the calories, fat, carbohydrates, and certain vitamins and minerals. Those listed in the box may be naturally occurring or synthetically added. Always read the ingredient list!
